Dear reader, it gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Daystar Junior School Kirombe, a school which stands as a larger caring family to you all. A Long history of tradition and excellence in humanitarian work of providing Life Skills to neighboring communities during school holidays inspired me to start a holistic school of Daystar Junior School Kirombe.
Daystar Junior School was founded in September 2014 and opened up its first academic year on 2nd February 2015. The classes start from pre-school up to lower-primary level, it has now grown to a fully Nursery and primary school. Our mission is to introduce valuable lessons to all children to achieve their highest potential and our Vision is to teach all children the relevant education and Life Skills they require to successfully function in the world today. Our goal is to provide a program that includes not only an excellent academic curriculum but also special activities that promote self confidence in our Learners. Our Learners build a high level of self-esteem, as well as respect for the world around them.
The passion or zeal of bringing up a new generation and present a “daily star“ among the children in my community had been running in life for a long time. The passion of raising a daily star produced Daystar Junior School to keep the hope alive. At Daystar Junior School, we “model excellence.”
It has been my relentless endeavor as the founder of Daystar Junior School Kirombe, to formulate our school ‘s Life Skills curriculum with the help of ARISE Foundation USA so that it is unsurpassed .To meet this challenge, I have continuously explored, reviewed , researched and gathered facts before adding new material to make our program(Life Skills) comprehensive and stimulating. To cultivate and encourage imagination, inspiration, and talent, we have well trained teachers who teach the National Curriculum, coach in music, dance and drama, art as well as sports and physical education.
Each child’s progress is discussed and different approaches to challenge him/her are originated. I personally examine student’s work to ensure that no scholar is left behind and the student’s performance is in par with Daystar School’s standards. The teachers’ lesson plans and goals are also assessed to foster our School’s Curriculum goals. I visit each classroom and assess every child’s class work and homework, to determine the individual progress of the student.
At Daystar Junior School, our teachers are always present on site for the day to day operation and are available to resolve any parent concerns. We have well qualified teachers who nurture and motivate our students. Our caring staff is always willing to support and assist the parents.
Our students are very important to us, “every child counts.”. Every aspect of our Program is geared towards promoting their optimum potential. Our small class size, allows us to give personal attention to all our students. The students, the parents and our staff are all involved in making this a success.
“Why should one walk when one can fly?’ The growth of Daystar Junior School will always be on the upward march.
I therefore take this opportunity to extend my Special thanks to Mr. Jens Kessler and all our friends over the world. Thank you for your help, support, encouragement, teachings, ideas and love. Thank you for helping to make the dream of Daystar come true, and for giving us a chance when we thought there was little hope.
In conclusion, I would like to express my deep appreciation of the efforts made so far and look forward to our continued endeavor to enhance the reputation of Daystar Junior School and achieve perfection in every respect. We have many challenges but day by day we swim through them as we strive to reach the shores.
